How are you using sociocratic principles?
Applying it in my community group
Please write a brief description of your experience of sociocracy and a bit about yourself
I am a member of econids, an eco village project in Loire Atlantique. I have taken Diana Christian's course in sociocracy last year,[in France] and have been facilitating our practice successfully since then. However, as the only facilitator, we feel the need for the rest of the group to do a course too. We really love the techniques and sociocracy has helped us become a decisive and cohesive group. The rest of the group signed up to do Diana's course here in April and May, but it has been annulled. So, we are searching for another course. Diana recommended you. However, as I am the only English speaker in the group, if you don't speak French we would need a translator. [possible, but not me!] What are your thoughts on this?

Bienvenue Hilary - welcome to Sociocracy UK. I hope you can find useful information on this site. Let us know about general information you may have about sociocracy. In your profile you also asked a specific question about training in France, which I'd to respond to in greater detail soon - there are at least two French speakers here (although whether our French is good enough to train, or even explain sociocracy in French is a different matter), there are also trainers in France, so I'd like to get back to you with suggestions soon. In the meantime I suggest we correspond by email - you can contact me here. Also if you could email me a brief outline of Diana's course that was cancelled, that would be most useful - it will give us a better idea of your specific needs. A bientot.
